Our Mission
Home Stretch Transitional Housing Inc. was created to empower, support, and assist populations of mental health, homeless, substance users, and former convicts to reach positive goals in life. We are dedicated to sharing opportunities towards success and giving abandoned individuals a sense of belonging.
Who We Are
Home Stretch was founded in August 2017 by Harold Womack. Mr. Womack worked in the mental health field for over 15 years and found that services to assist those afflicted with mental health and substance abuse were limited. He was especially concerned with the sparse housing programs that were available in Philadelphia to assist men who have had some challenges with the legal system and are trying to move forward.

Homestretch endeavors to be that bridge; a housing program that will assist its residents with gaining the necessary knowledge and skills to control mental health issues, become substance abuse free, eradicate legal issues, and ultimately live a life of independence.
In the beginning, these individuals need someone to hold their hands to teach them how to identify services that will help them receive medical care and assistance, such as job training, education, and other needed services to be successful in their transition to change. These men and women are released from custody into places that are more or less holding cells, with no sign of hope. That's where Home Stretch has made a difference.
What We Have Done
Since opening, Home Stretch has acquired 3 locations, serviced 105 residents, and transitioned 80 clients into more permanent, supervised independent and independent living facilities. Approximately 40 of our clients have been directed through the judicial system and the Mental Health Courts process. To date we have had 27 clients complete their court and probation requirements.
